The Railway Market is one of the major attractions for travellers in Thailand. The local market is rich in selling a variety of seafood, fresh fruits and vegetables. The floating market provides a different experience altogether to tourists and is exemplary in itself.

There are three different transportation options for you to choose from: 

 

1. VIA MINIBUS

Duration, Pricing and Timings

  • 8:15 AM – 4:15 PM (bus leaves  at 8:25)
  • 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM (bus leaves at 9:40)
  • 12:00 Noon – 8:00 PM (bus leaves at 12:10)

Please note: If you are late, it will affect the schedule of the whole tour, so please be on time.

  • For 1 person, the cost is 3,000 baht
  • For 2 people, the cost is 2,500 baht per person
  • For 3 to 6 people, the cost is 2,000 baht per person

How to get there: Take BTS to Ekkamai Station Exit 2 and walk 150 meters (2 minutes to the bus terminal)

Summary of the Tour

  1. We will meet at Ekkamai Bus Terminal and start the trip by taking the minibus
    to Mae Klong Market, an hour and a half away from Bangkok.
  2. You’ll find the local vendors along the train tracks selling their produce, plus actual trains running straight through the market. The most interesting and funny part of this market is how the vendors pack their goods hastily to make way for the upcoming train.
  3. Amphawa Floating Market is one of Thailand’s best-floating markets, which is over 100 years old and is very popular among tourists.
  4. We’ll have our lunch there, and you are free to go shopping, roam around, or even try a boat tour if we have enough time.
  5. At last, we will be returning to Bangkok on the minibus and finally ending the tour at Ekkamai Bus Terminal.

Summary of the Tour

  1. We will be meeting up at Wongwian Yai Train Station and starting the trip by taking the train to Mahachai Market, the famous seafood market near Bangkok, which takes about an hour.
  2. After getting off the train, we will be walking to the pier and crossing the river via the ferry and taking another train at Ban Laem Station, which is also an hour-long journey to Mae Klong Market.
  3. This market is one of the most dangerous markets in the world, but worry not, for you’ll be safe with me.
  4. You’ll find the local vendors along the train tracks selling their produce, plus actual trains running straight through the market. The most interesting and funny part of this market is how the vendors pack their goods hastily to make way for the upcoming train.
  5. Following this, we will take the local bus or a taxi to Amphawa Market. Amphawa Floating Market is one of Thailand’s best-floating markets, which is over 100 years old and is very popular among tourists.
  6. We’ll have our lunch there, and you are free to go shopping, roam around or even try a boat tour if we have enough time.
  7. At last, we will be returning to Bangkok on the minibus and finally ending the tour at Ekkamai Bus Terminal.

  6. At last, we will be returning to Bangkok to your hotel via private car.
  7. Before returning, if there’s enough time, then we can visit Wat Bang Kung, the most iconic temple in Amphawa District. It is known for its roots and branches of the Banyan tree, which over the centuries have surrounded and locked the building.

 

Important Information

  1. For those who choose to use public transportation, please be on time.
  2. We arrange private group tours of individuals, couples, families with children or teenager(s), groups of friends, and co-workers. We do not combine two tour groups together.
  3. Sorry, but we do not provide tours to children under the age of 12 years.
  4. We recommend bringing your sunglasses, an umbrella, or a hat (if you wish) and applying sunscreen.
  5. A wheelchair will not be accessible.

Tour Plan

Day 01 Starting

Around 09:00 – 09:30 AM

You will arrive at Got pier in which the nice crew is waiting to welcome you with drinks, and then a cruise safety introduction. Enjoy lunch while feasting eyes on the scenic canals and islets of Da Chong (Stacking Stones), Con Vit (Duck Islet), and Gia Luan village (Cat Ba). You will spend the afternoon to explore Trung Trang Valley and Trung Trang Cave in the middle of Cat Ba Island. There will be also time to visit Tra Bau for swimming and kayaking.

Later, relax on this 5-star floating hotel; also, join the cooking show if interested.

Day 02 Relax

The relaxing morning with fresh air, majestic sunrise, and the nice view of local fishing life will be followed by an explorative trip on the bamboo boat to Bright and Dark Cave (Hang Sang Toi).

You have more time to explore Viet Hai fishing village, Da Chong Islet, Cat Ba National Park – Trung Trang Cave, Cua Van area, Ba Trai Dao Beach, Tra Bau area, Van Boi Beach, Ba Ham Lake, and Bright & Dark Cave. Take it easy to directly work with the tour agent on the detail

Day 03 End Tour

Get back to the cruise for farewell brunch, pack your stuff for the voyage back to the harbor.

In the meantime, enjoy photo hunting as the cruise peacefully sails across many islands and islets of Lan Ha Bay and Halong Bay
