The Chao Phraya River is the only river in Bangkok. It has some of the best hotels, bars and restaurants on its shoreline. It is best known for its dinner cruises & boat taxis. The river is a stunning beauty in the capital and a real experience to test during your stay in Bangkok.
There is a local population alongside the river which …
It is a small market by the river. You can be sure that you will find the best, most authentic, and most reasonably priced goods at this market because it is crawling with locals.
In all of the surrounding alleyways (soi) and along Phran Nok Road, there is a good concentration of street food vendors.
As you explore the neighbourhood, you’ll be delighted by the simplicity and charm of every corner. One of the highlights of this community is the Baan Silapin Artist House, a cultural centre that showcases traditional Thai art forms.
We can take a break to rehydrate and enjoy the river view.
Also known as Wat Saket, the big Buddha statue is situated on top of a man-made hill, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city. You must climb a series of stairs, surrounded by lush greenery and stunning statues, to reach the top.
You’ll be rewarded with a peaceful atmosphere and a magnificent golden stupa once you reach the summit. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the beauty of this place.
*Please note that if you choose the extra service of pick-up and drop by a private car, then we can only cover the Bangkok area.
We will be meeting at Saphan Taksin BTS Station Exit 1 and then will be walking to Sathorn Pier. We’ll begin our journey by travelling on a public boat.
We will walk along the busy streets and through the Wang Lang market. We are happy to assist you in buying anything you may like during the tour.
We will visit the peaceful canal community of Khlong Bang Luang. We can stop by the cafe to enjoy some refreshing drinks along with witnessing the lifestyle of the locals.
At this place, you can buy or just simply admire traditional Thai art & paintings.
We will then be heading to Wat Paknam to visit the giant Buddha statue. We’ll go up to the top floor and see the beautiful city view of Bangkok. The tour will complete at the temple.

Informative and Fun Half Day Tours in Bangkok - Manow (Showme Thai/All About Thai) my tour guide is very professional and friendly. On the first mini-tour, she met me at the hotel in Sukhumvit and we explored a cool... read more pedestrian part of the old city and had a relaxing drink along the river. It was a good intro to Bangkok because we used taxi, sky train, and boat! I was super jet lagged as it was my first day so it was an orientation to Bangkok and also a chill area. On the second mini-tour, we saw some of the historic temples of Old Siam. We saw the Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Pho) and took the ferry to see Wat Arun. Manow showed me historic things but also gave me a perspective on contemporary Thailand as well as gave me travel recommendations for other parts of the country. I recommend Manow to others and I will contact her the next time I am in the country.
