“Talat” or “Talad” means Market & “Noi” means Small. The name of the market suggests that it is a small market. However, there is a lot of history attached to it. Let me take you on a virtual tour and answer some of the most common questions around Talat Noi.

I am excited to share my personal experience of Talat Noi, including its famous attractions, how to get there, what to eat, history, and some tips and tricks from a local’s point of view.

Driving force

The “Antique Turtle Car” is another major attraction on the streets and is believed to be a Fiat 500 left unclaimed for years.

Apart from this, we can find Sieng Kong crowded with spare parts for cars. On moving ahead in the streets, we can also find long lines of cars of the locals.

What Else Can You Do Nearby?

Wat Traimit Temple

After the tour is done, there is a lot to do nearby; you can visit the Klong Thom Night Market nearby, which was essentially known as the thieves’ market about forty years back. At this market, you’ll find all kinds of unusual items which are not manufactured any longer and aren’t available at everyday shops.

Kalawar Church is also a great place to visit nearby. It is a gothic-style church which had been built in 1786 and has been renovated and repaired several times over the years, hence maintaining its beauty.

Another amazing place to visit is Wat Phra Chetuphon which is the home to the famous reclining Buddha. It is one of the largest and oldest temples in Bangkok and is a site of cultural heritage.

Where to Eat?

Since Talat Noi is so close to the city centre, it is surrounded by amazing restaurants and food joints all around.

You’ll be able to find delicious, mouthwatering food within a one-kilometre radius all around. From local street food at cheap rates to diverse cuisines from all around the world, you’ll get what you want with little to no trouble.

There are many small cafes along the streets of Talat Noi as well, where you get good and aesthetic pictures of the gram!

When is the Best Time to Visit?

Although Talat Noi is open for visitations at all times of the day, I recommend going to Talat Noi at noon to observe the street art at leisure, before wandering into the Church or Wat Phra for some peace, And then end the night perfectly after the visit the famous night market!

Local Tips and Tricks

I highly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and dressing comfortably because the whole tour of Talat Noi is to be done on foot and can be quite exhausting and tiring in itself without even factoring in the uncomfortable shoes and clothes.

Make sure to take a lot of time in your hands before visiting because you’ll easily find yourself mesmerized by the art and unable to leave!
